Marina Smith, 34, from São Paulo, Brazil, claims her friends excluded her from their annual Christmas dinner over concerns about her beauty and single status.
Marina, a social media influencer with nearly one million followers, says her friends feared she might “tempt” their husbands and boyfriends at the festive gathering. A WhatsApp group was created to plan the dinner, but she was deliberately excluded. She learned about this exclusion from a friend’s boyfriend, who disclosed that her presence was a controversial topic in the chat.
“I’ve been banned from Christmas dinner because the women think I’ll steal their men,” Marina shared with Mail Online. Despite her glamorous life, she has been single since early 2024. Her last relationship ended poorly due to financial disagreements. “My ex always liked to split everything, even a café bill, which became exhausting,” she revealed, reflecting on the breakup.
Marina expressed frustration, stating her single status already limits outings with friends, who now view her beauty as a threat. “I always respect relationships and have never made advances toward their partners,” she explained. She feels betrayed by their lack of trust, emphasizing, “It’s a shame because they’re going to lose the best friend they could have had.”
Determined to enjoy her holiday season, Marina has no plans to accept a late invitation. “At this point, I’d rather spend Christmas alone at home,” she said. Defending her personal choices, she added, “I dress and wear makeup for myself, not to attract attention. The problem isn’t me but men who think I’m ‘too beautiful to be real.’”
Although hurt, Marina sees the ordeal as revealing her true friends. She insists she’s content spending the holidays on her own terms, free from unnecessary drama. “Yes, I’m a beautiful woman, but that’s no reason to leave me out,” she declared. For now, she remains focused on enjoying her independence and rejecting the insecurities projected onto her.
