Nick Cannon recently opened up about his diagnosis of narcissistic personality disorder (NPD), sharing his mental health journey in an interview with People on November 28, 2024. The 44-year-old host of The Masked Singer and Wild ‘n Out explained that he had always felt neurodivergent and had been tested for various conditions over the years, including ADHD and dyslexia. Cannon emphasized his commitment to therapy and mental health, saying he embraces his diagnosis as part of his healing process and hopes to set an example for others.
In a previous podcast episode, Cannon revealed he had been clinically diagnosed with NPD, and despite the negative stigma around the disorder, he has worked to understand it. “I’ve taken all the power away from the term narcissism because I’ve researched it,” he said, encouraging others to learn about their own mental health.
Cannon’s personal life has also been in the spotlight, especially regarding his two-year-old son, Zillion, who was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) earlier this year. Cannon and his partner, Abby De La Rosa, celebrated Zillion’s diagnosis and called for more acceptance and compassion for families affected by autism.
In addition to Zillion, Cannon has several children from different relationships, including twins Moroccan and Monroe with ex-wife Mariah Carey, and other kids with Brittany Bell, Bre Tiesi, and LaNisha Cole. Cannon’s openness about his own mental health and his family life continues to foster conversations about mental wellness, neurodivergence, and the importance of seeking help.
