Sydney Sweeney, known for her role in Euphoria, was recently spotted relaxing at her $13 million waterfront mansion in the Florida Keys.
The 27-year-old actress enjoyed her time by the pool in a purple bikini, following the completion of her role as Hall of Fame boxer Christy Martin in a biopic directed by David Michôd.
In a November interview with Vanity Fair, Sweeney opened up about the lack of genuine support among women in Hollywood. She criticized the industry for presenting a façade of women’s empowerment while often tearing others down behind the scenes.
She attributed this behavior to generational conditioning, where women are taught to compete against each other for limited opportunities instead of lifting one another up.
Sweeney admitted she’s still navigating these dynamics but emphasized the importance of addressing these challenges. She expressed frustration at being unfairly criticized by people within the industry and questioned why younger talent striving to achieve their dreams are often discredited.
One of her most notable critics, veteran producer Carol Baum, questioned Sweeney’s talent and appeal during a screening of her film Dead Ringers. Baum dismissed Sweeney as “not pretty” and “unable to act,” also labeling her romantic comedy Anyone But You “unwatchable.” Her remarks caused controversy and prompted backlash from Sweeney’s team.
In response, Sweeney’s representative condemned Baum’s comments as shameful and unproductive, urging women in the industry to use their platforms to empower rather than attack.
Despite such challenges, Sweeney continues to focus on her career and remains committed to advocating for genuine support and solidarity among women in Hollywood.
